A shocking thought, but one which is plausible according to Ben Witherington. An interesting proposal building on his view that the Beloved Disciple was Lazarus. Now if Ben would interact with Bauckham's book, then we could have a real scholarly showdown. Is there anyone in the Blogosphere who finds these arguments satisfying?
